Women from across the state will be meeting in Manhattan, Kansas, on March 6, for the annual meeting of the Kansas Agri-Women (KAW).
The business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. In addition to election of officers, the organization will discuss plans for hosting the national American Agri-Women (AAW) convention in 2011.
The luncheon and presentation are open to the public: KAW would like to invite all partners in the agriculture industry to attend; producers, agri-business professionals, land owners and families.
Luncheon speakers will include AAW president, Chris Wilson, Manhattan, Kan. and Jan Lyons, Past President National Cattleman’s Beef Association, Manhattan, Kan.
The presentation will share real life experiences in Ag-Advocacy and give guidelines for producers to follow while representing the industry.
Kansas Agri-Women president, Abby Dechant, Alma, said, “This is an opportunity for producers to learn what they can do to be advocates of the agriculture industry everyday.”
The meeting will be held at First Church of the Nazarene Parish Hall, 3031 Kimball Ave., Manhattan, Kan. (at the intersection of Seth Child and Kimball).
Kansas Agri-Women, an affiliate of American Agri-Women, is a non-partisan organization of women interested and involved in agriculture.
