Shorter days and cooler evening temperatures can only mean one thing—fall is almost here.
More importantly, it’s Ozark Fall Farmfest time!
Farm Talk Newspaper and the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds are excited about Farmfest and invite everyone to come out and enjoy the show, which will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 1, 2 and 3 in Springfield, Missouri.
In no time at all the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will become more than just a fair facility when over 750 exhibits cover the grounds.
From livestock equipment to tractors, trailers to balers, Farmfest will offer a little bit of something for everyone who attends.
Farmfest has been bringing everything in agriculture to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds for over 30 years and is open each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to indoor and outdoor exhibits, Farmfest will feature a number of livestock exhibits in the barns.
For those interested in checking out the latest in the livestock industry the on-site livestock exhibits present a unique opportunity for stockmen and women to take a look at the different kinds of breeding stock available to them, and learn more about the animals from the breeders themselves.
Beef cattle breeds at Farmfest include Angus, Belgian Blue, Brahman, Brahmousin, Brangus, Braunvieh, Beefalo, Beefmaster, Charolais, Gelbvieh, Hereford, Irish Dexter, Limousin, Longhorn, Lowline, Maine-Anjou, Milking Devon, Red Angus, Romagnola, Salers, Scottish Highland, Senapol, Senegus, Shorthorn, SimmAngus and Simmental.
But it isn’t just cattle in the barns at Farmfest.
In addition to the cattle segment, equine enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to view a wide array of horses.
Other livestock at Farmfest will include Boer goats, dairy goats, Katahdin hair sheep and show pigs.
All over the showgrounds, inside and out, the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds will be spilling over with animal health products, tractors, trailers, cattle chutes, gates and panels, livestock waterers, feed, fencing, tools, trucks, forage equipment—and so much more.
Farmfest will also feature rural living displays where a host of products designed to enhance the rural lifestyle will be on display.
For those visitors looking for some action while visiting Farmfest, well-known stock dog trainer Danny Shilling from Bois D’Arc, Mo., will be on hand to present daily stock dog demonstrations and clinics each day.
Farmfest visitors will also have the opportunity to take a step back in time to see how things were done in the good ol’ days by visiting the antique equipment displays brought by the Ozarks Steam Engine Association and the Southwest Missouri Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association.
Hours for the Ozark Fall Farmfest are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 1; Saturday, October 2; and Sunday October 3.
As always, parking and admission is free.
The Ozark Empire Fairgrounds are easily accessed on the north side of Springfield, Mo., just off Interstate 44 and Mo., Hwy 13.
